Dear One,
Happy Full Moon! I hope you feel well as our moon dances with the sea goat Capricorn along the sky. I have felt the energy a bit more intensely these days. The stubborness of the goat hit me - How about you?
Now I love aligning my rituals with the moon phases. And today I wanted to share one of them: automatic writing. I do this almost daily. It has become such a source of truth and expression for me. How it works: You ask a question and then surrender the words coming from you onto the page. If you feel stuck you slow down, repeat the question, use a loving noun, or just repeat the last phrase over and over.
And today I asked the full moon to offer a message for our community here and share it below. I hope you enjoy it. If you do - please let me know how it resonates. OR: Use the prompt for yourself - and share the guidance which came through for you with the community.
If you are a paid subscriber, you also find a new dream meditation waiting for you for this full moon.
May you enjoy this day and beginning waning moon cycle. Happy smudging, clearing out and illuminating who you are.
The message (unfiltered)
Dear Full Moon,
what will you have us know right now?
Mothers. How often have you been called that? For when we grow up, we all become her. Mother. We mother ourselves, tend to our own wounds, we ask for help. For all that is mother. That is all which lives inside your chest. See we meet you in this full moon under the seagoat. Capricorn, the tender of our bones, of our ambition. The stubborn one leading us deeper into the desire of our hearts to then bring them outside of us, create, create, create. Now how do mothering and achieving our goals go together? In our patriarchal world of fantasy…they don’t. How could tending and care help us reach our ambition, if not only to keep up our functioning. See that is wrong, that is simply wrong dear One - we can’t say it differently.
For if we don’t mother, if we don’t tend to our own seeds - there is nothing to achieve. It is mother inside us who sees. Who notices the seeds which need tending to. And once they bloom and bear fruit, we can harvest them. But that takes a lot of care - and a lot less achieving.
So what do we need achieving for then? What do we need a mind for to set goals? It is the sacred sea goat, who can protect the mother as she tends to her seeds. Structure is the one that offers safety so a ritual can unfold freely. Notice: when you have a routine (which is just a cycle of ritual in our words), and the routine feels stale or like nothing or a to do - then you are in the realm of having lost the mother in it. Then ask yourself to return to feeling. Any ritual devoid of meaning is an empty item on your to do list. Something draining you, taking away your sacred energy from tending to what is important to you. Any act you perform with meaning in your heart is enough. Is a tending. That doesn’t mean overly prepared acts or that you “have to feel” a certain way - that would be the ambition of the seagoat getting the best of you.
It means: whatever you do, allow it to be something meaningful to you. Not rational meaning. Joy can be meaning. Sadness can be meaning. Aliveness is meaning. That is all.
And then achievement, doesn’t just stay achievement. Your acts become an expression of you. Your truth, your aliveness. Regardless of whether you do a job, a chore, or just breathe. That is what in meditation we refer to as “living prayer” or “meditating the whole time”. When we stay in that love and infuse all our acts with it.
To wrap this up, something for your head: Did you know this word in its root means “completing, finishing”? When we take that masculine energy of the seagoat - its beauty is, it can say: It is enough. You are done now. So that the mother doesn’t exhaust in tending and care - but she also has time…to just chill. For her creativity and beauty are endless - but her physical energy isn’t. That is how the seagoat tends to the bones and guards our creativity. By standing guard. Our goals in mind. But dear one remember: maybe your true goal isn’t a job or a promotion, maybe it is aliveness? Maybe it is love?
With love,
Your full moon in Capricorn
I would love to read what the full moon offers you as a message - If you’d like take the prompt and share in the comments. I reply to every one of them.
