Dear One,
I hope I find you well under this new moon in cancer or her crescent cycle afterwards. New Moons are such a special time to connect to the dreams that we hold and the visions which they carry for us. So, I recorded a little dream journey meditation for us. If you currently have a dream in your heart (a job you want to have, partner to find, life to live,…) this practice will allow you to journey with this dream, and receive guidance on how to bring it alive. It can feel quite vulnerable to dream - the mystic space of meditation can help us dive deep into the visions we hold. I hope you enjoy this practice. If you do, please comment, subscribe or share it with a fellow dreamer!
How I came up with this practice, was also really day-dreamy. A coaching session I inspired me to record this meditation.
A client session - Should I go after my dream?
In the session a client of mine came to me to talk about a job decision she needed to make. She had two job offers, both really “reasonable” and “great opportunities”. And yet also that opportunity of founding her own business had opened up - a dream she had been carrying for long, yet never thought it would become reality so quickly. After she described the options I asked her in genuine surprise: “What is the question?” I only heard an answer. She even herself knew it. We then got a little curious with the resistance to going after her dream, and she saw herself in a body of water, struggling really hard to move ahead. She noticed she had two safety buoys with her - both great options, but there was another one she really wanted to reach. She knew that’s where she wanted to get to, but she felt she needed the other two. We stopped and just looked at, how she felt realizing this. She smiled and said: ‘I just change the way I swim now, it’s much easier to crawl than to paddle around.’ I asked her how it felt, and she said ‘So much easier - and you know what? I notice the two buoys are tied to me and are holding me back’ She then invited them to be let go and they left without any hassle. Her path was free to the goal she was really pursueing. I asked her if anything else was there, and she said: ‘The words: I will get there. I just need time.’
This ‘I just need time.” seemed to be key. The permission from herself to explore and play and find out how to make this dream her own.
We both talked about how important it is to tend to our dreams, and allow visions to appear, and how vulnerable that can sometimes be. It is often easier with another person, because our nervous system can feel safer together. Dreaming is vulnerable, especially when it comes to things that matter to us.
Since, I myself love to take time to daydream and tend to the visions I hold - especially now with just launching my Substack, and tending to my soul’s need for free expression, I decided to record a practice for this deep water moon in cancer.
About this practice
This practice is called a “dream journey”, because it allows you to travel through your imagination and visions regarding a dream. You can just press play and everything will be explained. Just one important note: When allowing visions to come in, we can sometimes put pressure to “see” something or understand it right away. Dreams work with symbols - sometimes they reveal their meaning over time. The more open you are, and just allow nothing or something to appear, the easier it will be. Sometimes people receive very clear visions or instructions. Sometimes people smell or hear something, sometimes they fall asleep, sometimes they enter a blissful meditative state (“samadhi”). Trust that the practice will vibrate beyond the minutes you actively spend in it. Time we dedicate to tend to our body, mind and soul in this way always changes something within and around us. A dream is always worth tending to, when it tickles in our heart.
How to practice
I recommend practicing lying down (if you are pregnant on your left side is often supportive), eyes closed. But always feel free to choose what supports you. Make sure you are in a place where you have privacy.
If you want, you can write down a dream you hold before lying down (I also offer that in the practice). Afterwards I recommend taking some notes to arrive back. If you have time, you can also spend more time in meditation or sleep.
Make sure you drink a lot of water on that day, and eat nurturing food. And be open to let life surprise you afterwards.
Always consult with your doctor/ mental health professional before engaging in any kind of practice.
I would love to hear how the practice was for you, or also what showed up for you - it might inspire others for their dream too. If you liked it, please restack, or share it within your network.
Thank you for dreaming with me.
Alles Liebe,
Nina
